They were, of course, bitterly opposed to the right-wing 80's regime--the "Corporate Deathburger" of Ronald McDonald, a. But, enjoyed in the spirit of the time, this is an outstandingly musical treat, as long as you don't take the viewpoint without about ten pounds of salt.

One person found this helpful. Being an Indian boy from the reservation I was immediately sold on this band when I first heard "John Wayne Was a Nazi" back in high school. I played this album quite a lot and it's become a staple in my Punk collection. Compared to other bands I like they are definitely more political, their songs striking out against conservative values, corporate greed, and the police state; by-products of the Reagan era in American politics.

To me it's still relevant and their music is as good to me as it was all those years ago. Great riffs with smart poignat lyrics. One of my all time favorite punk bands.

This stuff made you wanna stage-dive. Sounds great! Thank You! One the best. Hard, incisive, courageous, and humorous. A precision like Bach's, a toughness like Brutalism. One of the great, essential, furious dissents of '80s. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness. Top reviews Most recent Top reviews. Top reviews from the United States. A precision like Bach's, a toughness like Brutalism. One of the great, essential, furious dissents of '80s. A must for anyone who embraced the subculture of the 80's. FYI: They still tour, play live shows for cheap in small venues at breakneck speeds without a note out of place.

This pic disc a glory to behold. MDC's legendary first and best record; sounds so fast and angry, with guitars akin to a million attacking wasps, and venomous, clever, pro-gay, anti-system no-nonsense lyrics. I almost pissed my pants!!

Now to the sound; it's very uneven in tone and volume from one song to the next. The first 3 songs have a less loud, opaque guitar sound with vocals on top of the mix and strong bottom end. The rest of the songs mostly need the aid of a strong subwoofer. Granted, the record has that swooshing sound pic vinyl has and a little more pops and ticks than usual, but you'll notice only in-between songs due to the furious nature of the music.

All in all the CD is a better deal but I just had to have the picture disc; it's mesmerizing in person. Pics don't do it any justice. As in your face as every other offensive punk band there ever was and maybe more so. See all reviews. Today it is considered a hardcore punk classic. Kurt Cobain listed it in his top 50 albums of all time. All lyrics are written by Dave Dictor , except where noted; all music is composed by Ron Posner, except where noted.
